Compaction of vertical vibration technique is an economical and efficientcompaction method. Compared with the traditional techniques, this one has manyobvious advantages. At present, there is a large gap between the domestic hydraulicvertical vibration compaction techniques with other countries’, so the type ofproduct also depends on imports. Therefore, Researching on compaction of verticalvibration technique has great significance to improving the domestic vibratoryroller’s construction capacity and enriching the roller’s species.Computer-aided technologies have been used to the research field of roller; ithas great advantage in improving quality and efficiency of rollers’ design. Finiteelement analysis technology was adopted to do simulation study for a new verticalexcitation mechanism’s eccentric blocks and the factors that led them to part innormal working time were explored. According to the simulation results, improvements on the eccentric blocks’ structure design and processing technologywere raised, which have achieved good results in the practical application andimproved the new vertical-vibratory roller’s reliability in the construction.Real-time detection technique of compaction can not only improve theefficiency of vertical vibration compaction but also a key step toward verticalvibration intelligent controlled. Virtual prototyping technique was used to build asimulation model of vertical vibration compacting subgrade for real-time detection.By simulating, the vibration wheel’s vertical vibration acceleration amplituderesponse at the fundamental frequency was measured; meanwhile the linearequation between the degree of compaction and the vibration acceleration wasestablished, which laid a theoretical foundation to achieve real-time detection ofsubgrade compaction.
