Research On The Application Of Chinese Traditional Architectural Eaves Space In Modern Architectural Design

The spatial layout of Chinese traditional architecture is mainly based on the courtyard.Under such a cultural background,the eaves corridor space,with its unique medium space characteristics,plays an irreplaceable role for thousands of years to organize and connect traffic in the traditional building group and transfer the space between the interior and the outside.With the passage of time,the development of society,the means of science and technology and the emergence of new building materials make the creation of contemporary architecture more diversified,and the architecture needs to meet more complex functions and space needs.However,the wooden frame system has been very difficult to meet the space needs of contemporary architecture.The traditional big roof has slowly retreated in the eyes of people and evolved into a roof form suitable for modern and contemporary architecture.The traditional sense of the eaves space under the eaves of the big eaves is also abstracted as more form of expression,with a positive communication space.It is widely used in the practice of contemporary architecture.In this paper,the eaves corridor space is first traced to the source,from the beginning of the prototype through the development and evolution of successive dynasties,step by step to maturity,and eventually become the whole process of a necessary space type in the traditional Chinese architecture system,and the classification of the eaves gallery space of the traditional architecture.Secondly,from the perspective of contemporary architectural space,the traditional eaves corridor space is deeply analyzed and understood from five aspects: composition,expression,function,spatial attribute and meaning.Finally,according to the traditional eaves gallery space in the practice of contemporary architecture in the process of the application of the image symbols and space form of the traditional eaves of different degrees of abstraction,the specific application of the application of the three types: scientific reproduction,pluralistic inheritance,image exploration.According to the selection of the corresponding typical examples for each type of application,from the level of "slice" and "path",the space form of the design eaves corridor is controlled from the two elements of the abstract structure.Then,the analysis and Research on the eaves space of different abstractions are carried out from the aspects of the spatial connotation,the expression form and the structure material.According to the design style,we should grasp the different degree of spatial abstraction of traditional architecture,choose the suitable space form according to the corresponding degree of abstraction,the method of material structure,and follow the principle of holistic design,form beauty design,humanized design,and the principle of sustainable design.The author through the eaves space application research as the carrier of the method,the same applies to other traditional architectural space application research,but also hope to be able to do related aspects of design research designers with the idea of reference and help.
