Water hydraulics is economical and environmentally friendly. Compared with oilhydraulic system, the water hydraulic system has advantages of faster response, higheraccuracy, lower temperature rise, less pressure loss and better fire resistance. Therefore,water hydraulics gains more and more attention and becomes an important trend in thedevelopment of hydraulic technology. The central task of this paper is to design andresearch water hydraulic axial piston hydraulic pump.The current research situation of the water hydarulic pump both at home and abroad isdescribed briefly in this paper. Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantagesof pumps with different structures, the general structure scheme of the water hydraulicpump is determined. The main parts of the pump are analyzed in details and theirimportant structure parameters are designed. By Matlab, the load, contact pressure and thepv value of the piston are calculated and the piston strength is checked. The strength andstiffness of the cylinder is checked. With the aid of ANSYS and Matlab, the strength andstiffness of the pump shaft are also checked.The choice and matching of the material of water hydraulic friction couples areanalyzed. The friction and wear properties of polyetheretherketone against nitrided2Cr13in water lubrication are tested and analyzed by experiment.The mathematical model of leakage from the clearance between piston and cylinderbore is established. By Matlab, the optimum value of the clearance is designed to be about8μm; the pressure and flow pulse of the pump is simulated by AMESim; the mathematicalmodel of the effects of vibration damping groove on port plate on the pressure inside thepiston bore is established and by simulation, the optimal structure of the vibrationdamping groove is designed.The preliminary experiments on the pump were conducted and by improving design,the efficiency was promoted greatly.
