Permanent magnet governor(PMG) based on magnetic coupling technology, whichutilizing the conductor rotor rotary motion in the magnetic field excited by the permanentmagnet rotor, and thus produce an alternating magnetic field at the air gap between the tworotor, so that the motor and load to achieve non-contact, high-efficiency running. As a newspeed control device, the PMG with its superior technical advantages is familiar to a largenumber of engineers and is applied in more and more occasions.At present, the research onPMG mainly focuses on the field of applications and energye-saving, the issues of magneticfield distribution in the mechanism of PMG was rarely studied.The article used the theory of the electromagnetic field, according to the magnetic fieldin the two different structure of the PMG, combined with the working mechanism of themagnetic field in the different structure, the issues of magnetic field are studied by theoreticalanalysis, and based on the theory analysis, using the electromagnetic field analysis module ofANSYS software to model the different structures of PMG and solve the working magneticfield distribution and the parameter values, to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysisresults, which can provide theoretical basis for the research on working magnetic field ofPMG. Meanwhile, the impact of different structural parameters on the magnetic field of PMGhas been analyzed by ANSYS, which has provided a strong reference to the optimizationdesign of the PMG. Finally, a novel PMG structure has been proposed on the basis of theprevious results, and a simple analysis of its magnetic field is discussed, in order to verifiedthe rationality of its structure.Through the research of the magnetic field on two different structures of PMG, themagnetic field distribution of the cylindrical PMG is significantly better than the structure ofDisc has been proofed. And according to the results of magnetic field analysis, the outputtorque of cylindrical PMG is larger and more efficient in the same structure parameters.Secondly, the magnetic field distribution in the different speed has been analyzed using theANSYS software, and the results show that: In the same air gap thickness, as the speedincreases, the magnetic field strength of the working air gap increases, and thus the magneticforce for driving the permanent magnet rotor increases, in order to increase the PMG outputtorque and improve its efficiency. In addition, by the results of magnetic field analysis indifferent structural parameters, the air gap thickness and the permanent magnet of PMGthickness are the most influential factors of the working magnetic field has been obtained. Atlast, the magnetic field of the new PMG has been analyzed, compared to the magnetic field distribution of the first two structures, which show that the structure of new PMG isreasonable and has certain superiority.
