With the ability of high strength, resistance to deformation, light weight and elegance,concrete-filled steel tube(CFST)arch bridge, is prevalent in bridge construction of highwayand city road in recent years. The steel tube concrete arch bridge is a self-erecting structure,with a phased combination of structure stiffness, thus the construction control of structure iscrucial. Using cable hoisting construction, WangPoGou south bridge has some technicaldifficulties in the construction process such as the long span of cable hoisting, the heavyhoisting weight and difficult lifting of arch rib section, the stability of the tower, the influenceof tower deviation on the closure linear of arch rib and tower root stress.Based on creating finite element model of the structure, this paper studies and analyzesthese difficulties above as the main purpose, which including contents as follow. firstly, notonly does this paper state the methods of installation of steel tube concrete arch bridge rib athome and abroad,but also introduce the key technologies construction priorities anddifficulties in the process of Wang Po Gou south bridge construction. Secondly, there is a briefdescription of the cable hoisting system and scheme. The paper calculates and analyses oftower affected by various cable forces. Additionally, this paper uses finite element software tooptimize cable force, which comes to a reasonable cable force in construction and providesprearranged height to installation of each arch rib section in construction. At last throughanalyzing the stability of tower by finite element, this paper evaluates the influence of towerroot stress and tower deviation on hoisting system.
