Some of the asphalt concrete pavement and cement concrete pavement have integritystructures after operation for several years. But the surface function problem may exist, suchas bad anti-slide performance, poor smoothness, high noise, and so on. The most importantthing for this part of pavements is to restore its surface function. In order to reduce theinfluence of pavement elevation and to save resources, use of ultra-thin asphalt mixturepavement is a reasonable and economic maintenance plan. But in our country, there are littleresearches about the asphalt mixture of ultra-thin pavement at present. Most of the pavedprojects directly use foreign technology. The design method relating to ultra-thin pavementasphalt mixture which is suitable for road, transportation, climate and environment in ourcountry is lacked. Therefore, the research of ultra-thin pavement asphalt mixture designmethods and performance improvement measures have important engineering value andpractical significance.From the problem of road surface function defects to be solved, and combination withultra-thin pavement special stress characteristics, this paper put forward the correspondingperformance indicators for ultra-thin asphalt functional layer. Based on the interlayershear-strength, texture depth, Marshall Stability and soaking scattering loss test, therelationship between void ratio, inter-layer shearing strength, Marshall Stability, texture depthand anti-stripping performance is researched and the variation law between each performanceand design air voids is obtained, and the optimum design air voids of ultra-thin asphaltfunction layer mixture is proposed. Using the orthogonal experimental design method studythe influence of different sieve pore to asphalt mixture performance. Then the aggregategradation range of Ultra-thin asphalt function layer which can satisfy the function requirementand meanwhile can meet others requirements is gotten. studding the changing patterns ofhigh-temperature performance, low temperature performance, water stability, anti-strippingand durability performance with mixing amount of SBS, mixing amount of reinforcing agentand different aggregate gradation, this paper puts forward the improvement measures ofultra-thin function layer mixture pavement.
