Under the international background of resources and environmental issues are becoming increasinglyprominent, environmental problems such as high energy consumption, large emissions of greenhousegases and harmful dust resulted from construction, operation and maintenance of asphalt pavement havedrawn extensive attention both at home and abroad. However, at present, analysis of energy consumptionand air emissions of asphalt pavement are usually based on qualitative analysis. Lack of quantitativeanalysis and evaluation system is unable to make clear the energy saving and ecological benefits, which tosome extend hindered the promotion and application of energy saving and emission reduction technologyof asphalt pavement. The use phase of asphalt pavement is the key phase of energy usage and gas emissions in asphaltpavement’s life cycle, especially the vehicles running on the roads, which take the largest portion of thetotal energy consumption and gas release; nevertheless, most of the existing quantitative analysis studiestake no account of vehicle factor. Consequently, it is necessary to establish quantitative analysis andevaluation systems of energy usage and gas emissions for the use phase of asphalt pavement.According to lab researches and case studies, this dissertation proposed a pavement condition–vehiclespeed–energy consumption prediction model of pavement using phase; besides, based on fieldinvestigation and literature review, the quantitative analysis method of energy saving and emissionreduction for asphalt pavement maintenance is established; what’s more, from the perspective ofenvironmental impact and economic regulation, the environmental impact comprehensive assessment andeconomic indicator analysis method are proposed respectively. Results of this dissertation could providescientific instruction for quantitative evaluation of asphalt pavement energy usage and gas emissions in theuse phase, and also could promote the development of energy saving and emission reduction technology ofasphalt pavement.
