This paper first introduces miniature spectrometer’s applications,internaland external development, and its significance. Then, talk aboutspectrometer’s theory about light source system, collimator system,spectroscopic system, imaging system, receiving system and its categories.And CCD and CMOS are introduced and compared, that providing atheoretical basis for the CMOS spectrometer.Have analyzed the effect of double and multiple diffraction light onsymmetrical and crossed Czerny-Turner structure was proposed, a new opticalstructure basing on the crossed Czerny-Turner structure. It can effectivelyextend the receiving spectrum spatial dimension for area CMOS sensor, bydividing a continuous spectrum into two pieces. The new optical structure wassimulated by the optical software Tracepro, for verifying the new structure’scorrectness and feasibility, and a prototype based on this new opticalstructure was set up.The software for CMOS spectrometer based on the Windows platformwas designed, by using Visual C#programming language. The multithreadedprogramming and double buffering mapping technology in software was usedto solve the much data problem, and improve software running speed anddrawing quality. And the data transmission and storage function was realized. The linearity of the CMOS sensor was investigated and the intensitycalibration was done. Then the prototype performance was testedsatisfied.
