The Research Of Reliability In A RJ45MagJack Connector

Reliability tests are the important contents in the realm of reliability research.Two kinds of accelerated reliability tests were explained as two importantdevelopment direction, which included Reliability Enhancement Testing (RET)&Accelerated Life Testing (ALT).During the usage, delivery and store of the RJ45MagJack connector, thetemperature and vibration are the most important factors. The basic model ofacceleration life test was established by using acceleration stress method，i.e.．increasing temperature and vibration．The test flow，establishment of test plan，analysis and disposal of test data were also discussed in the paper，and the service lifeat different stress levels was predicted with models．At the same time, the costs andtime of test are decreased greatly, through the application of uniform designexperiment method and Minitab softy’s usage.This paper introduces the reliability enhancement testing (RET) and itsprocedures which have been applied to the products of RJ45MagJack connector.Preliminary results and conclusions are given.
