In recent years, with the emergence of high-rise buildings and super-tall buildings,shear failure of reinforced concrete frame column with rectangular section under theoblique horizontal earthquake action has been a prominent problem.Domestic andforeign scholars have carried on research,and a lot of results have been got,and thecalculation formulas of two-way shear strength of reinforced concrete frame columnwith rectangular section are given in the current code for design of concretestructures(GB50010-2010).However,the Domestic research on the analysis andcomparison of the reliability of the different calculation methods of the two-way shearstrength of reinforced concrete frame column with rectangular section has not beencarried out caused by the lack of experimental data.The calculation formulas under thedifferent calculation methods of the two-way shear strength of reinforced concreteframe column with rectangular section are introduced and analyed,and the reliability ofthe formulas are compared used the principle of structural reliability.At first, this paper introduces the concerned theories of the two-way shear strengthof reinforced concrete frame column with rectangular section,and the calculationformulas of two-way shear strength under the different calculation methods which areCriterion Analysis Method,Three-Line Segments Method,Minimal Volume of UseStirrups Method,Section Converting Method and other methods are listed,at the sametime,the main factors which influence the shear strength are analyzed deeply.Besides,the relevant experimental data of the two-way shear strength ofreinforced concrete frame column with rectangular section has been summaried,thereliability indexes of the calculation formulas under Criterion AnalysisMethod,Three-Line Segments Method and Minimal Volume of Use Stirrups Method ofthe two-way shear strength are computed and compared using Matlab programcompiled by JC Method,accordingly, the related conclusions are got:(1)The reliabilityindexes of the calculation formulas of the two-way shear strength of the frame columnunder the three calculation methods are greater than3.7,which meet the safetyrequirement;(2) The reliability index of the calculation formulas of current code islargest,which indicates the calculation formulas of current code used to calculate theshear strength is safer;(3)The reliability indexes of formulas under monotonic load are greater than the reliability index under earthquake,which indicates the calculationformulas used to calculate the shear strength under monotonic load is safer;(4)Reliability index of design formula can be increased by adjusting some designprovisions or relevant coefficient,which meets the requirement of practical engineeringbetter.
