Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) Arch Bridge is a new type that is widely usedin China. Because of its light weight, high strength, reasonable force and constructingconvenience, It is one ideal structure form of long span bridge.The process of construction monitoring on CFST is complex and might be affectedby lots of factors, especially the process of the hoisting of steel tube arch rib and thepouring of steel pipe concrete. The arch rib lift at each stage will affect the previouslycompleted ones, whose stress state will be different and thus lead to a change in the archrib curve. Combining engineering instances of CFST arch bridge, Firstly, The paperutilizes MIDAS CIVIL to simulate the internal force, stress and deformation on thestructures such as arch rib, beam, and boom in the construction process and under thestatus of the completed bridge. Secondly, the paper emphasis on simulate the arch ribaxis, stress and deformation on the process of the hoisting of steel tube arch rib, thepouring of steel pipe concrete and under the status of the completed bridge. Thirdly, itmakes corresponding monitoring schemes for each construction stage. Then acomparative analysis is made between the actual construction process data and thetheoretical calculation data, which provides more accurate reference basis to theconstruction process of CFST arch bridge. By changing the construction schemes, thefinite element model is set up. Finally a comparative analysis is made between amongthe analysis result,the theoretical data of the original model and the actual constructiondata to further prove that construction monitoring is not only important but alsoreferable.Through the construction monitoring on CFST in actual project, optimizing of theconstruction scheme, and establish the finite element model, this paper makes researchinto the construction monitoring of CFST from the respective of both the actualconstruction and theoretical analysis, therefore provides an important reference for theconstruction monitoring of similar bridges.
