With the rapid development of our social economy and load density increasing, The10kV voltage grade is difficult to meet the requirements of power supply in the mediumvoltage distribution network. There are a lot of new problems has appeared with the10KVpower supply, such as: the power supply capacity is insufficient, increase in outlet line,channel corridor congestion, the line loss is too large, the end of the line voltage is too low,power supply radius is short, more substations has to be built. Therefore, the problem ofraising the voltage distribution voltage level has received extensive attention.In this paper, we have studied feasibility the10kV voltage level transform to the20kVVoltage level. First, through the theory the20kV voltage has puted forward not only on thetechnology is feasible, but also in the economy is the superior. And then through the forwardand backward substitution method to calculate load flow calculation, comparing theboost before and after the voltage quality and line power loss, verifying the20kV voltage ismore suitable for medium voltage, analysing and comparing the20kV medium voltagedistribution network’s connection mode and scope of application, selecting theappropriate power supply for the region by20kV distribution network, developing a step-up transformation of the basic principles, proposing the transformation program and thetransformation process which should pay attention to engineering problems, making sure theareas reconstruction booster can achieve. Second, has studied20kV with the low voltageside to the single-phase power supply conditions of use and wiring, in order toreduce the low-voltage line loss. Finally, this article take the DaLaTeQi area as an example,using the application of the theory and technology, through the calculation and e analysisdemonstrating the above theory is completely feasible, and also has the scientific nature.Medium voltage distribution network using the20kV voltage can improve powersupply ability, reducing the loss of voltage, Reduce circuit power loss, increasing powersupply radius, reducing line corridor land and substation site, and medium voltagedistribution network to20kV voltage grade can make full use of existing10kVequipment, saving a lot of resources.No matter in the Low load density areas or in thehigh load density areas, the20kV voltage rating can be well adapted,20kV voltage level isan inevitable trend of china’s medium voltage distribution network development.
