The control method of stepping motor is very simple. It uses open-loop controlwithout speed or position sensor, thus stepping motor driver have the advantages of lowcost and simple driver circuit. At present, the stepping motor has been widely applied inthe field of industrial control. But the stepping motor also has its own inherent defects. Forexample, the stepping motor has large vibration when the speed is low, and is of smallertorque when the speed is higher in the traditional control mode. These deficiencies limitfurther development of stepping motor. With the emergence of high-performance digital signal processing chips anddevelopment of power electronics technology, the control method of stepping motor driverhave been gradually converted form analog control mode to digital control mode. Thedigital control mode makes a lot of control methods achieved. Pulse subdivision combinedwith Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation has solved the low-speed vibration and smalleroutput torque in high speed of stepping motor.Firstly, this article analyzes the structure and basic principle of the three-phase hybridstepping motor, and then establishes its simplified mathematical model. After studying thebasic principle and implementation of pulse subdivision and Space Vector Pulse WidthModulation, a fully digital three-phase hybrid stepping motor driver is designed. Thedriver is based on lm3s818and is used to control the three-phase hybrid stepping motor.Experimental results show that the three-phase hybrid motor with pulse subdivision isof characteristics of smooth running, low noise, and constant output torque. Theexperimental result verified the effective of pulse subdivision technology.
