Nowadays many countries have established their own ITS(Intelligent TransportSystem),rational use of the existing road traffic facilities, and give full play to the roadtraffic potential for improving the road transportation capacity,and reducing traffic andtraffic jam phenomenon.The basis of the ITS are real-time and reliable traffic data.A MapMatching technology is just the purpose of applying to the core of the key.On the basis of analysis the current map matching algorithm,this paperdetailedsummarized their respective advantages and disadvantages,and pointed out the limitationand applicable range respectively.According to the present situation of road networksystem of Shenzhen and the characteristics of GPS data sampled by public traffic controlcenter, the existing map matching algorithm are classified as matching algorithm based onvehicle terminal and algorithm based on center platform.On the analysis of the defect ofthe traditional matching algorithm based on fuzzy logic,The paper introduces acomprehensive map matching algorithms based on long space and mass GPS data.Wedidn’t only take into account the position and the direction of the GPS sample pointswhich based on traditional fuzzy logic,but also consider the the connectivity of roadnetwork. In addition,the weight of distance,direction and the connectivity of road networkwill be adjusted adaptively in the improved comprehensive map matchingalgorithm.Besides,we will give full consideration of the factor that the direction of thevehicle are not reliable while car in low speed.In order to avoid the wrong matching whilecar drive in the dense urban street,intersection,overpass and some other complex city roadnetwork,we studied the point map matching and the delay map matching,and applied thefibheap in the Dijkstra algorithm to improve the compute efficiency.According to the GPSsampled data of Shenzhen, we compared the matching result between before and aftermatching,and between the traditional and imporved comprehensive map matchingalgorithms, it showed that the algorithm can satisfy the requirements of the accuracy andrationality.
