Many cities have not installed special heating system, and the traditionalair-conditioning heating will increase energy consumption of the building. So it is of greatvalue to make use of solar energy for heating the building. This paper presents a novel kindof solar house—porous solar wall heating room(PSWHR), the core part of which isconstituted by the porous ceramic. In conditions of different air inlet velocity and solarirradiance, development of flow and temperature fields for PSWHR were discussed byusing the numerical simulation methods. The numerical simulation results were comparedagainst experimental data, and the results show that numerical simulation model is reliableand accuracy. In this paper, there is some experimental study about heating performance ofthe PSWHR in the clear winter; the research focuses on heating performance and thermalenergy storage performance of the heating room in different external environment (mainlyrefers to the solar irradiance and ambient temperature). The results show that: the PSWHRhas a good heating effect during the day, and a small temperature difference in the heatingroom; PSWHR also has a good heat storage performance. With an example of experimentdata on one day in January Wuhan, the maximum temperature rise of the heating room is19.9℃compared to the ambient temperature. From7o’clock to16o’clock, the averagetemperature rise of the heating room is11.5℃; From16o’clock to18o’clock, the averagetemperature rise of the heating room is6.6℃in the situation of weak radiation. During thewhole day, the maximum temperature difference in the heating room is1.37℃in12:40.This work is supported by National Key Technology R&D Program of China(No.2008BAJ12B03) and National Natural Science Foundation of China(No.51036003)andCentral University Special Fund Basic Research and Operating Expenses(2011QN151,2011QN156).
