With the rapid development of highway construction in west area of China,a lot of highslope will be met. Regarding the mechanism of deformation and failure, evaluation shouldbe researched systematically. In this paper, based on multi-arch high slope stability ofHuangYan Highway, many research work have been stated。.HuangYan Highway multi-arch slope has been researched and deplored carefully, aswell as types, characteristics and structures. The cutting slope fracture developing jointshave been analyzed as well as the factors which affect slope stability. At last, thedeformation and failure of multi-arch high slope stability of HuangYan Highway have beensummarized by analyzing and deploring.Choosing the typical multi-arch high slope in HuangYan Highway, we carry outexperiments on the physical properties of soil and research the soil particle composition,porosity, natural density, compressibility, collapsible sex, shear strength parameters andthe distribution of the change rule under different conditions.According to deformation characteristics of HuangYan Highway multi-arch slope and onthe basis of evaluation and analysis, the theoretical analysis method of the multi-arch slopestability is chosen. With many methods such as circular method, fractures method, themethod applied in this study and extension engineering method, etc, HuangLong Highwaymulti-arch slope is analyzed and calculated carefully. The stability of HuangLong Highwaymulti-arch slope is researched.
