With the development of highway in china, the proportion of bridgehas been increasing continuously. As an important part of bridge,waterproof layer of bridge deck plays a crucial role. It can not onlycombine the pavement and bridge deck to ensuring driving safety andcomfortableness, but also can prevent the corrosion on the bridgeconcrete and rebar effectively. Therefore, the properties and selection ofwaterproof layer cannot be ignored. This paper has carried out systematicresearch on waterproof bonding layer of the concrete bridge.First of all, according to the research results at home and abroad,divides the material properties into basic performance and roadperformance; Second, according to the performance test about epoxyasphalt, SBS modified asphalt and AMP-100bridge deck specialwaterproof material, compares the three kinds of materials with theeconomic efficiency. Then, combined with the problems and distress ofwaterproof bonding layer on bridge deck, two important performance are determined. One is waterproof capability, the other is binding ability. Andthen, mechanical analysis is carried out on20m box girder to obtainingthe maximum shear stress under this model; Finally, according to theimportance of the waterproof layer material, this paper puts forward theselection method of waterproof layer material.Through this study, waterproof material type, test temperature andvertical load have significant influence on shear resistance and tensileresistance. Temperature and vertical load emerge a linear relationshipwith shear strength. With the increasing of temperature, the shear strengthfalls rapidly; Combined with the technique and economy, SBS modifiedbitumen has highest cost-effective. Combining test research and analysisof the disease, material basic performance, bond properties and economicfactors should be considered when select the waterproof layer material.Bond property of waterproof bonding layer should meet its need, whichshear strength is not less than the most unfavorable shear stress of bridgedeck pavement waterproof bond between layers.
