Waterproof-bonding layer plays an important role in protecting bridge and preventingbridge deck pavement in early disease. At present in China there are many cementconcrete bridges that has been completed or Under Building, many of them has occurredearly damage when they opened to traffic soon after.The reason is that there are manyproblems in setting waterproof-bonding layer, therefore,the bridge deck occurs thedamage of water. Water damage of the bridge deck is one of the issues which affectdurability.At present,a system of selection and evaluation of the materials performanceindex and test method has not been formed, limited to the domestic research,it has acertain blindness in choosing and evaluating the performance of the waterproof-bondinglayer. The profound research on the properties of the waterproof-bonding layer inconcrete bridge deck is significant for the application of it in practical projects.This paper depends on two projects. One is the2010science and technology planproject "Research on the complete set technology of the high performance pavementabout mountain area highway" which is cooperated by The transportation hall of Hebeiprovince, the other is “the key technology research on deck pavement of expresswaycement concrete bridge” which is cooperated by Hunan province. Through the damageforms’ investigation of cement concrete bridge, this paper analyzes the causes of diseaseand the mechanical analysis of the pavement. we choose five kinds of typicalwaterproof-bonding layer and a new development of the waterproof-bonding layer,thesematerials in indoor for adhesion, shear, pull, water-proof and fatigue test in order toappraise to the performance of binding adhesion, shearing strength, bond strength andwater resistance, and analyse comprehensively the performance indexes of changeunder the factors of material type, climate conditions, the construction scheme and soon. The results of the study show that: the method that we chose can objectively reflectthe actual performance of all kinds of waterproof binding materials.MMAwaterproof-bonding layer is a good long-term waterproof bonding material.It has anexcellent high temperature bonding shear,. excellent water-proof,Anti-fatigueproperties and durability. By analysis of economic and technology, we found that MMAwaterproof-bonding layer has no environmental pollution, no energy consumption, andConvenient construction, cost-effective, and has good economic and socialefficiency.
