Study On The Design Of High Performance Asphalt Mixture

Since the80’s,the construction of highway in our coutry has after more than20yearshigh-speed development.The construction of highway can satisfy the needs of thedevelopment of the economy.But the volume of traffic of the constant growth bring a severetest to the asphalt,so it must be more strict to do the asphalt pavement design. According tothe observation in recent years，Asphalt pavement Seriously damaged year by year，and theservice life of the asphalt pavement is not consistent with the design. In a few years afterbeing used, it present ruts、crack etc. The min reasons are The rapid increase of traffic、Thepoor management of the high way. In order to get the good performance of asphaltpavement,we must pay attention to the asphalt mixture composition design.This paper carried on systematical research and analysis of the details of the Superpaveasphalt mixture design system, and made a great deal of experiments combining themaintenance item of jing-zang highway.This paper studied the asphalt mixture ratio designmethod based on the asphalt AC-16mixture as the research object. First,the papersummarizes the theory of the asphalt mixture, and made arshall test for the asphalt mixturegradation form。This paper analyses the influence factors of isolation film thickness,andconcluded that when asphalt content increases, the isolation oil film thickness as the synthesisof the volume increased, the relationship curves is change as arc. Along with the increase ofGsb，the isolation oil film thickness increase, but the curves present linear relation if asphaltcontent is low.Finally，the paper analyses the method of minimum asphlt based on theVMA,and Calculate the minimum asphalt content of AC series when the VMA is4%.
