Embedded technology is the underlying hardware design, application software design, communication design integration of technology transfer, development of embedded technology for economic and social development and improve people’s quality of life has given great help in the security monitoring is particularly prominent. With the expanding range of security surveillance, monitoring equipment, gradually increased, increasing data communications requirements, the traditional monitoring techniques can not meet the design requirements, based on this paper to automated dam safety monitoring system as an example is proposed based on Ethernet network of distributed intelligent control unit of the developed method.In the fully automated analysis of the dam safety monitoring system design requirements based on the monitoring system selected the most widely used series of vibrating wire sensors and control unit as a front-end sensor, a wide range of vibrating wire sensors to measure water level, displacement, deformation, fault and other physical information.Ethernet-based intelligent control unit to Ethernet technology into the terminal and host computer communication monitoring equipment design, terminal equipment with a powerful32-bit processor for terminal equipment and the Ethernet communication between the host computer to provide the hardware base. Control unit based on the LM3S6965Cortex-M3processor and control unit as a whole, the main controller to control the measurement channel switching, front-end vibrating wire sensor signal acquisition, the temperature signal acquisition, data processing and transmission. Ethernet monitoring and control unit in communication design, to LM3S6965and external circuit as the hardware platform, porting μC/OS-II real-time operating system as the system software platform, optimized TCP/IP protocol in order to build a real-time, simplicity, flexibility monitoring systems.
