Due to its advantages of high precision, good anti-interference ability and shortwarm-up time, fiber-optic gyro has been widely used in aerospace and other fields. Itsquality has direct impact on the reliability of the aircraft controlling systems. Therefore,high-precision testing equipment is very essential for the parameter acquiring andtesting of fiber-optic gyro.Based on virtual instrument technology, this paper implements a data acquiring andauto-testing system, which can be used to estimate the performance of a fiber-optic gyro.The hardware system involves swing cabinet of temperature, signal conditioning circuitand PC-DAQ. This article begins with details of designing a swing cabinet oftemperature. Then it presents the processing methods of each signal. Temperature sensoris used to get the real-time temperature, current sensor to convert current signals tovoltage, AD8221to amplify weak signals, and DAQ card to acquire the conditionedsignals and transmit them to computer for further process. Software is developed onLabWindows/CVI platform. It controls the swing and heating of the swing cabinet oftemperature and power supply of fiber-optic gyros. Besides, it realizes the functions ofdata acquisition, data processing and display of data acquired and data fitted.After a period of test, the system has been proven to be stable, reliable andeffective. Besides, it is easy to operate and is more precise. The system meets the testingrequirements of fiber-optic gyro, thus has been put into practice.
