The reducer is a kind of transmission equipment which has a wide range of applications in the engineering fields. Its working condition has a great effect on the entire working system. As a result of the extensiveness and significance of reducer, the problems caused by the reducer itself have generally aroused engineers’recognition. Problems caused by vibration is the remarkable one among all of them. Vibration of the reducer can directly affect the foundation which bears the reducer as well as the transmission components which connects with it. Besides, equipments in the surroundings can also be affected by the vibration transmitted through the foundation. The usual problem is that vibration of the reducer can loosen the foundation bolts and damage the foundation. If this kind of problems can not be tackled effectively, the workers should stop the machines and make some repair frequently which means the producing activities will be forced to stop. These operating conditions can not be accepted by the enterprises for the sake of efficiency. This paper has made detailed researches on the vibration source and the vibration isolation of the reducer. The conclusions obtained from the researches have some value both theoretically and practically. This paper is based on plenty of references with detailed analysis and consideration. In this paper, the author analyzes the reason of reducer vibration at the beginning. Seven main vibration sources are obtained and the paper analyzes every aspects theoretically. The sources can be classified into high frequency ones and low frequency ones and the former kind is the more important ones. The paper makes particular researches on the high frequency vibration caused by the gear-rotor system after demonstrating the seven vibration sources. A six-degree of freedom model is built in which many factors are taken into consideration. Integrated with a practical example, this paper figures out the inherent frequency and principal mode of the system using MATLAB as well as the dynamic response under the meshing error excitation. After sufficient researches on the vibration sources, the paper builds the one-layer isolation model with six degrees of freedom and make some dynamic analysis. During this process, the paper lays a lot of emphasis on the economical and practical requirements. With the consideration of the most important degree of freedom is the vertical one, the paper has made particular researches on this direction. Then a single-degree of freedom isolation model is built and the paper also makes active controlling researches. According to the different controlling parameter, the active control is classified into three kinds: displacement type, velocity type and acceleration type. The performance of the three kinds of control is evaluated through the transmissibility of force. In order to evaluate the effect sufficiently, the paper makes experimental study using the vibration testing instrument B&K. From the acceleration curve, we can see the acceleration transmitted to the foundation is reduced greatly and the linear and angular amplitude is in the permitting range. After the overall research, the paper obtains the conclusion that adding one-layer vibration isolation equipment can control the vibration effectively.
