Hydropower engineering construction caused a series of environmental problems, which has become the bottleneck of the basin sustainable development. Therefore, according to the specific situation of river basin, we systematically study the development of cascade hydropower stations on the regional water environment, and predictes and evaluates water environmental impact of the basin, finally puts forward corresponding problem prevention strategy. Those have great significance for a correct understanding of the watershed environmental conditions, and improving the management decision-making level.Impact prediction and evaluation of the water environment is one of the topics at the forefront in the current domestic and international, which is also an important content in water conservancy and hydropower project environmental impact evaluation. According to the operating characteristics of the jinsha hydropower station, the project location and river basin water environment characteristics, This paper systematically investigats the basin water environmental quality situation and construction may bring water pollution problems, analyzes the water environmental sensitive point, put forward the project of major water environmental factor, then scientifically analyzes and forecasts the possible major water problems. Using the basic idea of qualitative analysis to quantitative calculations, this paper analyzes the Jinsha hydropower station project on water environment effect, finally obtains some valuable achievements. According to the hydrological regime change in the potential of hydropower station construction project, this paper systematically analyzes the runoff, flooding, sedimentation, reservoir backwater, water temperature change, etc. Therefore, this paper provides an important basis for macroeconomic policy-making of the Jinsha hydropower planning and construction. Using the MIKE21software, this paper establishes a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model and water quality model, predictions and evaluations the water quality in the region of Jinsha hydropower project. The result is objective, specific and high accuracy, which provides economic and effective decision-making information for the management departments. And so as to realize the sustainable development of the river basin has the great significance.
