Study On The Development Of Bus Rapid Transit In Nanchang

With the speeding up of the urbanization process and motorized advancement unceasingly and the rapid growth of the urban population, China’s major cities faced with the traffic congestion, environmental pollution and low efficiency of traffic problems universally. In this regard, our country are establishing priority development strategy of urban public transportation, and at the same time, all major cities in China are speeding up the construction of rail transit projects, parts of these cities have launched research, planning and pilot project on Bus Rapid Transit. On the one hand, the construction and development concept of the Bus Rapid Transit brought new opportunities to the solution of the urban traffic problems; On the other hand, Bus Rapid Transit is still a new public transport mode for NanChang and even the whole country, and its applicability needs further research. Therefor, it is of importance for theoretical value and practical significance to the research on the rapid development of Bus Rapid Transit.Based on the summary of research and development of rapid transit system home and abroad, this paper conductes a systematic analysis research of applicability in constructing and developing Bus Rapid Transit of Nanchang, and furtherly gives some suggestions for Nanchang to develop the Bus Rapid Transit. The main content of this paper consists of seven chapters. Chapter1is introduction theory; Chapter2is theory overview of fast public traffic system; Chapter3is existing analysis of public transport in NanChang city; Chapter4is adaptability analysis of Bus Rapid Transit in NanChang; Chapter5is experience and strength of development of Bus Rapid Transit home and abroad; Chapter6is strategies and suggestions for Nanchang city to construct and develop Bus Rapid Transit; Chapter7is conclusions and prospects.By combining the theory of rapid public transport system with the development of public transport of NanChang, this paper demonstrates the feasibility and adaptability of NanChang to develop public Bus Rapid Transit from the macro level and technical level,and puts forward some specific proposals to the development of public Bus Rapid Transit in NanChang through financing, network construction, operational management and other aspects.
