With the construction of water transport in Sichuan province, plans to build Leshan port in the Minjiang River downstream. The Laojiangba project of Leshan Port is located in the reservoir area of Laomukong hub to be built, and still in the Dadu River confluence downstream. In the natural condition of the riverbed broad and shallow, and islet development, channel topography and flow conditions are very complex; After the Laomukong hub up and running, the flow conditions and sediment erosion and deposition of the project reach are affected by the reservoir operation modes; And the wharf apron coastline and layout of the Laomukong levees were dug-filled, that make the river terrain and channel changes, and further increase the complexity of the fluvial process and navigable water conditions change. So establish a long river physical model to study the flow conditions and fluvial in the project reach before and after the port built, to ensure the channels unblocked and the port normal use.As the port construction depens on the reservoir flood embankment construction, so to study the layout of flood embankment.Test uses an fixed bed model experiment that distorted model of variable rate η=2on four different bank line layout scheme, compares the channel width, channel depth, flow velocity, river flood capacity and ecological landscape effectiveness, choses the embankment line spacing1500m and preserving Laojiangba project model for moving bed sediment test. Fixed bed results show that because of the completion of the Laomokong hub, the reservoir area water level elevated, the flow rate slow down and the fairway conditions improve, that make navigable channel in good condition. Laojiangba operation area is located in the right branch confluence of Laojiangba, had reflux and oblique flow, that affect the port’s normal use.The further sediment test shows that reservoir operation for10years, water depth at the port area can meet the requirements; for20years, the water depth is inadequate, need for dredging.Through bed sediment, but the reservoir area channel scale (navigation depth, navigation wide, the radius of the bend) is still larger than the channel three standard and the navigable flow conditions (flow rate, ratio, flow pattern of flow is10000m3/s) satisfy the following requirements for ship navigation too, after the reservoir operates20years. Another preliminary study carried out to improve the adverse flow pattern, and think the measures are effective.
