Recently with the increasing development of Life-cycle Health Monitoring basedon construction and operation process, the controlling of construction-phase and thelong-term monitoring of operation-phase have been done for most of the continuousrigid frame bridges, in order to guarantee its safety during these periods. Nevertheless,for almost of them, these two phases are operated separately. Therefore the sensors laidin different phases can not be combined effectively and the data can not be shared fully,which destroys the integrity of monitoring information and causes wastes of informationand hardware as well. According to the fact, this paper endeavors to analyze the rationalmonitoring point in Life-cycle Monitoring Mode, to achieve mutual complementarity ofembedded and surface-mounted sensors. It aims at improving the inner unity of bridgesmonitoring for construction and operation phases.In this paper structural parameters are firstly got from the construction monitoringand completed bridge load test, using Structure Inversion Theory to optimize finiteelement model instantly and capturing the least favorable control section of the bridgeaccurately, to put forward a kind of operation monitoring point layout technology basedon the theory of state inversion during the construction; Secondly, with the aid ofmechanics and mathematical method, through analyzing structure and sensor itself, theconcept of effective monitoring sensor radius is put forward. Then based on this concept,the optimization for existing surface-mount program has been done. Analyzing therelation of data from embedded and surface-mounted sensors in correspondingstructures, a new mode that combines the advantages of the two at the same time hasbeen constructed. Thus the surface-mounted ones can share the structure informationsuch as dead load and prestress monitored by the embedded ones, which reflects thehigh efficiency in sensors lay-out and economy to reach monitoring point optimizationlay-out. Finally, based on the experience on Longhe Specially-long-span Bridge,preliminary program for surface-mounted sensors lay-out by using genetic algorithm isreceived. The based on the optimal sensor lay-out based on Life-cycle monitoring hasbeen finally completed after analyzing the effective monitoring radius.The continuous rigid frame bridge construction-operation raised in this paper,which is based on rational optimum lay-out of monitoring points technology has vital significance and widespread application prospect in aspects of the bridge lifemonitoring and ensure the safety of the bridge structure.
