This paper mainly concentrates on the design of overall structure as well as the components of JC15engine. By targeting on the emission optimization, the match test of charging system and fuel system are also explained in detail here.After investigating to medium and high speed diesel engine market both in China and abroad, comparing with the technology status of equal power rate engine, and considering of the technical indicator of each system as well as the component manufacturing and machining capacity in internal combustion engine field, in order to filling the blank of light duty power engine in our oil drilling industry, and enhancing the core competence of the company, this new engine with high efficiency, low fuel consumption, and high reliability has been developed.In the simulation, AVL BOOST software is adopted to calculate the turbocharger match, valve timing, air intake and exhaust system as well as engine working procedures. AVL HIDSIM software is used to analyze the fuel distribution among the injectors and hydraulic nozzle flow related to the oscillation characteristics. After comparing with different nozzle structures, the best solution is chosen. AVL FLOWMASTER software is used to calculate the cooling circuit to define the coolant flow and pressure distribution. After the analysis to the main data as well as relevant simulation calculation, main structures of the engine are defined accordingly. Then, it goes to the detail design step to optimize all engine systems and main components. This is to make sure all systems can match well, and all components could meet the high performance target and work reliably.At last, the bench test has been done for well service application and genset supplication. The test results indicate that, all performance data such as power, fuel consumption, exhaust temperature and emissions values etc. has already achieved or even better than the design targets. The engine dynamic property, economic performance as well as emission have stepped into the advanced level in the world. This new JC15engine can substitute other similar foreign brand engine completely. On conclusion, the research and development have done for this engine is successful.
