Because of complex structure, numerous control parameters and complicated control strategy, the development and debugging of high pressure common rail diesel ECU become more and more difficult .Using hardware-in-loop simulation technology can reduce the bench tests of diesel engine, and can complete the design and debugging of ECU quickly and easily. This paper developed a set of high pressure common rail diesel engine simulating experimental platform which can run a dynamic model of diesel engine on a real-time basis, and simulate all sorts of the input and output signals ECU required.To satisfy the need for hardware-in-loop simulation system (HLSS) in diesel engine common-rail ECU development process, a high pressure common rail diesel engine simulating experimental hardware platform was developed based on the high-performance 32-bit digital signal processor TMS320F2812.A digital dynamic simulation model for closed loop control system was designed based on MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results showed that the model was feasible and valuable. The same implementation was embedded in the DSP by language C.The PC supervisory system was designed based on LabVIEW, which can sample the real-time data of experimental platform through CAN bus and display the curve.The hardware-in-loop experiment on a certain diesel showed the experimental platform could run a real-time model of diesel engine, could simulate all sorts of input and output signals what the ECU needs, could analyse and judge the control effect of the diesel ECU intuitively. In all, the high pressure common rail diesel engine simulating experimental platform can provide a good online environment for ECU development, calibration and test.
