The area of the Nanxijiang drainage basin is2436km2.The catchment of Nan’an reservoir wich is built in plan upriver of the Nanxijiang is about311.9km2.The catchment of Shangtang wich is the county seat of Yongjia is about2241km2.The example of Nan’an reservoir is adopt to discuss how to desire the flood of the location without the hydrological date and how to determine the storage capacity of the reservoir.The first section is to resolve the problem of how to desire the flood of the location without the hydrological date. This article is about to utilize the date which is in possession of us to make the hydrological and the water power model, then utilizing the date which is obtained by the hydrological observation station to rectify the model. By calculating the flood which is in history, and by the traditional hydrology, we can obtain the flood in projection. The second section of this article is to discuss the problem of how to determine the storage capacity of the reservoir for flood. By analyzing the complex aim, deciding the storage capacity of the Nan’an reservoir for flood to abtain the optimization effect of controlling the flood.This article use the Nan’an reservoir as the example to discuss some problem of the hydrology for the project.
