With the gradual deepening of Chinese urbanization, the scale of urban power grid growsday by day, Variety of new technologies, new products apply in urban power grid constantly,which make a rising of complexity, capacity of electric power supply, reliability in the urbanpower grid. With the developing of city, the plan of power grid must adapt urban planning,land planning, controlling detailed planning, municipal pipe network planning. Therefore, agood urban grid planning is essential for urban development.According to the general requirements of the China Southern Power Grid, which containexcellent structure, advanced technology, security and reliable, appropriately advanceddevelopment, energy saving and environmental protection. The YF Power Supply Bureaustarts to carry out the urban grid planning during the "Tenth Five-year Plan ". This has an aimthat improves the level of grid planning continuously, and establishes a relatively independentand perfect urban power grid.With the method that combines theoretical analysis and case studies, the study analysisthe current situation of YF regional urban grid and find the key problems to be optimized. Theliterature research will be made at first. The theory about urban grid planning, the status of thecity power grid planning, the implementation of city grid planning and problems in the YF arediscussed. Then interview and questionnaire to diagnose and analysis to the problems of YFregional urban grid planning are carried. In the end, the suggestions to solve the mainproblems in the YF urban grid planning, under the guidance of the modern projectmanagement theory is proposed. The research shows that the plan of YF urban power grid hasa few problems.(1) The external environment of power grid planning is more complex thanbefore.(2) The operating mode of grid planning for power supply bureau is needed toimprove.(3) The quality of grid planning is difficult to assess quantitatively which is the limitfor the development of YF grid.(4) Power grid planning is more complex than before. Thesuggestions are as follow.(1) Enhanced awareness of environment, assess the effect of gridplan for environment.(2) Strengthened the government-enterprise cooperation, improve thesupport of government for grid planning.(3) Taking an active participation in urban planning,make the grid planning be a detail planning.(4) Providing a platform for grid plan, taking anactive participation in planning.(5) Upgrade the the planning the level of technology andtalent reserve.(6) Implement the regional specialties planning evaluation system.(7) Developnew technology and new energy.(8) To improve the depth and breadth of the planning, carryregional specialties planning research. The study hopes to get a intensive study of YF urban grid planning, then make acontribution to the YF grid scientific planning and efficient construction. At the same time, wealso hope to provide a reference to a similar developing level of urban power gridconstruction.
