In recent years, China’s sustained and rapid economic development, accompanied by theconsumption of energy and environmental problem is increasingly serious also, energy-savingemission reduction has become the trend of contemporary social all walks of life. In thecountry " scientific outlook on development " strategy under the guidance of the power supplyenterprise, proposed the construction of " environment friendly, resource-saving " powerrequirements, and strive to achieve transmission line, the whole process of life cycle of "environment friendly and resource saving ", reduce the transmission line construction andoperation cost, reduce the electromagnetic and corona effect, improve the runningenvironment, to realize the transformation of development mode of power grid construction,more macroscopical policy requirements, the power grid construction on new material andnew technology application is an urgent requirement to high temperature resistant wire, at thistime, as the representative of a number of novel lead development and application to rapiddevelopment.At present, the high temperature resistant wire and other wire energy-saving researchlimited in engineering model using wire performance parameter calculation and the theory ofenergy saving index, the study because of the lack of engineering examples, difficult toquantitatively reflect the new wire energy.This paper discusses the application of overhead transmission lines in China presentsituation and development trend, this paper introduces several new conductor characteristicsand application of transmission line project, and from the point of view of design, based onengineering practice, the use of engineering technology economic index comparison analysismethod, comparison with conventional wire or wire. On the new energy saving andenvironmental protection type wire are expounded. At the same time, combined with a varietyof new conductor characteristics, full of new leads to better, better play to energy savingcharacteristics of practical engineering application, since it has a certain guiding significance.Finally, combined with China’s economic development policy and the development of powersystem needs and other factors, the new wire application prospects.
