Research On The Protection And Heritage Of Cultural Heritage Of Shawan Town

Cultural heritage is a cultural phenomenon of the human being, thecrystallization of history and modern civilization, and the result of longtime practiceand creative activities. The human landscape is the cultural heritage of a city, also thesymbol that is different from other cities. We should be aware of the significance ofcultural heritage and try our best to protect and inherit it.Shawan, the national historical and culture town, is the famous culture heritagein Guangzhou. Shawan locates in the south-central of PanYu district Guangzhou city.Shawan is an ancient town with the history of800years which give birth to thebrilliant culture. Shawan is a typical Lingnan town with traditional southern folkarchitecture. It is the combination of human and nature, and has important historical,artistic and scientific value. However, with the penetration of the economic andcultural globalization, the traditional house couldn’t adapt the modern livingrequirements. Furthermore, the conflict between the protection and use appears. Thetraditional vernacular architecture in shawan has been severely destroyed, and thetangible and intangible culture heritage couldn’t be inherited well.Based on the existing research at home and abroad, through literature analysis,field research and systems analysis inductive method, the paper mainly analyze thenature and human atmosphere of Shawan, and have deeper research to the elements ofShawan heritage and intangible cultural heritage. Through the analysis, we are goingto facing the problems ahead, investigating the measures of protection, and leadingthe culture development.
