Large-scale rotary machinery such as turbine-generator set is important in modern production equipments. Its running state not only affects the production efficiency, but also affects the production safety. The testing and analysis of its vibration is important to ensure its safe operation. With the development of computer technology, virtual instruments is replacing the traditional test equipment gradually, and is becoming the mainstream of test and measurement industry, therefore, my thesis created a complete vibration test and analysis system for rotating machinery, which is based on the using of appropriate hardware platform with graphical programming software called LabVIEW.This essay introduces the concept of virtual instrument and its characteristics, and detailed the basic principles and composition of vibration measurement and analysis system, the hardware platform and its features of data acquisition and analysis, signal processing methods and how to begin soft design with LabVIEW. The first part is the online acquisition and monitoring system; the second part is off-line data analysis system; the third part is modal parameter identification system. This virtual vibration measurement and analysis system can realize the vibration signal acquisition, display, time domain, frequency domain, and time-frequency domain analysis, modal parameter identification of the mechanical structure and a series of other functions.The rotor vibration measurement and analysis system have completed a series of collection and analysis tasks of vibration data in the laboratory, and accomplished modal parameter identification of a cantilever beam. Experimental results demonstrated that the system can meet requirements of the structural dynamic testing, and achieved good results, and fully reflect the advantage of virtual instrument in the test and measurement field, with short development cycle, scalability, functionality and other custom features.
