Wind power has become one of the fastest growing new energy. With the increasing proportion of wind power in system, problems have emerged due to the wind power’s inherent characteristics of randomness and volatility. Tie-line power control has become a problem to be solved in the wind power system, so dose the adjustments of scheduling strategy. In order to ensure the wind power system’s security and stability operation, tie-line power control and scheduling strategies were studied in this paper.First, the output characteristics of wind farm with different sycles of year, month, week and day are studied by statistics of wind power generation curve, wind power prediction of5min and30min ahead are got by Kalman filtering method, neural network method and the wind power curve, which lay a foundation of further study on the tie-line power control strategy.Second, combing the wind power forecasts, with the time-level scheduling and the coordination of AGC units and non-AGC units of regular power, a two level coordination control strategy on tie-line power is proposed in this paper, and corresponding mathematical models are established. IEEE118test system and an instance system of Yunnan are used to verify the proposed method, which shows an effective result. Finally, four scheduling strategies of wind power system are put forward in this paper to ensure the security and stability operation of the system and enhance the capacity of wind power in system. Studies of the strategies are of practical significance to grid’s security and stability after the attracing of a lage-scale wind power.
