The present wind power industry in China is in a period of rapid development. This thesis focuses on the control method of maximum power tracking for achieving the maximum wind energy tracking. For the wind turbine power generation systems in Zuoyun wind power farm, the technique measures for regulating the optimized power curves are investigated with experiments in order to track and achieve maximum power in practical operation. The suggested measures provide a viable way to increase wind turbine efficiency and generated output under different wind speed conditions, and also is helpful for operators to improve operational level in practice.Firstly, the configuration.and theoretical base of wind power generator are introduced, and the theorem and method for maximum power controlling are investigated. Three maximum power tracking control methods are compared, including the controlling method with blade tip speed ratio, maximum power curve and hill climbing algorithm. Secondly, for a practical application in Shanxi Datang International Zuoyun wind power farm, the control method of maximum power tracking is analyzed under rated wind speed for a double fed wind induction generator. Based on the general method for power tracking, the practical measures are applied with experimental adjustment, so the wind turbine is in state of optimized blade tip speed ratio and operates in the requirements of optimized power curves. Finally, by analyzing the power control method for the double fed asynchronous wind generator with variable speed constant frequency, a double-loop control strategy with power and current is presented for the main characteristics, including time-dependent, nonlinear and large time-delay.
