There are two important parts in this artice, one, is the analysis of river channel shifting, the other is the analysis of the river channel water loss between SHIZuishan and TOUDaoguai Hydrometric Station in the Inner Mongolia Reach of the Yellow River. Two parts depend on each other, The former proved that the trend of the latter is rising. Four theoretical methods and two experimental methods are used in this thesisFour theoretical methods are Water balance method, Percolation formula method, Flow evolution method and Wetland water balance method, two experimental methods are Profile method and satellite images interpreted methlod. This artice use satellite images interpreted methlod to analyze the trend of the channel shifting and the width of water surface In summer and winter, This is an Innovative point that is different from other thesis.The results shows that it is clearly that the trend of channal shifting is rising every year.lt results from the trend of sand increase and water reducing. However, Not all of each rivercourse is in raising and silting, as a matter of fact. it is only obviouse between Sanhuhekou and Toudaoguai Hydrometric Station. On using four methods,th equantity of water losses which focus on the5-10month during the irrigation of the Inner Mongolia region of the Yellow River river are calculated four results are basically identical,the result of multi-year average water losses which is calculated by using the water balance method is the most exact. When talking about nearly24-year average result, nearly five-year average result and the2010curren result,the thesis advise to use the evolution of daily flow mathod to predict the quantity of water losses.At last, the thesis concluded that the multi-year average quantity of water losses from May to October is12.2×l08fm3, the flow is76.89m3/s,what is more,the flow from May to June is85.05m3/s, the flow from July to October is72.84m3/s.
