Power line carrier (PLC) and wireless communication technology are the main methods used for information transmission in the current energy monitoring system, which result in some problem:difficulty of wiring, high cost, low real-time, poor accuracy, lack of reliability, low level of energy monitoring, slow response to the control decision and non-intelligence and so on. ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) technology can greatly improve the efficiency of energy data monitoring and load control.In this paper, we design and demonstrate the overall of the smart energy monitoring system based on WSN, research on the key technologies of the energy data acquisition layer, the data processing layer and the data application layer in our system. The main contents of this paper are as following:(1) According to the requirements of WSN and the system, we developed the embedded coordination and child node.The child node is used to realize the function of accurate acquisition, and the embedded coordination is developed for internal network control including data aggregation, monitoring, displayment and device control.(2) According to the requirements of local control functions, we developed the multi-task scheduling software system based on μ.C/OS-11embedded real-time operation system with μC/GUI interactive interface in coordination (or can be call as terminal) which has the feature of high real-time, beautiful interface and scalability.(3) According to the requirements of load balancing, we designed a power scheduling strategy based on the price oriented and device priority level, which is simulated and verificated by Matlab/Simulink and improve the level of intelligent power management and load balancing.There are several advantages with this power monitoring system, such as fully functional, high acquisition accuracy, reliable data transmission, friendly interactive interface, good scalabiligy and practical value.
