The one-line diagram for the distribution network is the very important diagram regulate the distribution network, the operating personnel can keep abreast of the running state of the distribution network by the one-line diatram, which provides a huge convenience to the operating personnel to control the distribution network. The one-line diagram of the distribution network was drawn manually by professionals. With the continuous expansion of the scale of the electric network, however, the work load of the hand-drawing and maintenance is too large and it is easy to lead to error. So it is necessary and urgent to complete the automatic generation of the one-line diagram.The common information model is a description of the information model of the all objects’s logical structure and relationships in the power system. It provides the platform-independent and unified logical description of power system for each application. Make the CIM model as the data source of the distribution network, not only can improve the engineering configuration capabilities of the system, but also can achieve the information exchanging and integration between systems. So the subject develops the system to automaticly generate the single-line diagram of for distribution network.The current paper makes a research on the completion of the distribution network’s automatically generation based on the topological connections relationship described by the CIM. Firstly, this paper summarizes the advantages and shortcomings of the mapping algorithm proposed in the past literatures. Based on their advantages and disadvantages, propose a new automatic mapping algorithm by translate the necessary tree branch on the drawing direction. There are two main innovational aspects of the mapping algorithm proposed by the paper. The one is changing the drawing direction of the path up to once to avoid a certain degree of overlap cross. The other is translating the necessary tree branch on the drawing direction to resolve the overlapping cross, avoiding the unnecessary equipment stretching problem. The most difficult issues encountered is how to deal with overlapping cross between the equipments.According to the coordinates of the device connected nodes computed by the automatic mapping algorithm, design the corresponding equipment vector graphics between the connected nodes and complete the drawing of the entire single-line diagram of the distribution network. Design the graphics control module, completing the drag, ratio and zoom fuction for the single-line diagram of the distribution, improve the system’s application control capability.Finally, the automatic generation algorithm proposed above is achieved by the code on a computer and the system is verified in the power management of a certain region in Shanghai. Numerical results prove that the graphics generated by the system is more compact and reasonable, which solves the unnecessary device stretching and having great whitespace problem.
