In1854,Elisha·Otis invented the first elevator. For more than a century, with the improvement of science and technology, the elevator has become an important symbol of material civilizations. In modern buildings, single elevator can’t meet people’s needs, in order to reduce time and energy consumption when people using elevators, more elevators should be installed and the improved management control strategy should be used to improve the elevator running efficiency and service quality. It is in this case that Elevator Group Control System (EGCS) emerge as the demand.Based on the application of PLC technology in the elevator group control, this paper introduces the main method of elevator control. Anglicizing the structure and composition of the EGCS system, through discussion of elevator control system, expounds the PLC (Siemens PLC) in the elevator group control application, and the combination of elevator group control system introduced a master-slave S7-200PPI communication design method.Finally, with the help of using the Siemens programmable logic control, the author putting forward the design scheme of the six floors of the elevator group control and lists the main control circuit, the elevator control ladder diagram and instructions tables and so on. By adopting the scheme, successfully solved the disadvantages of the motor contactor relay contacts. In the practical application S7-200PPI protocol is reliable, its own network of read and write commands to simplify the programming design, reduces programming error rate.
