The Study On Preparation Of SBS/Crumb Rubber Powder Compound Modified High-performance Asphalt Materials For Pavement

SBS and crumb rubber powder have been get further study and a large number ofapplications as asphalt modifier for pavement. SBS modified asphalt has excellentcomprehensive midification effect, but the application scope is limited to highwayconstrucction because of its high cost of production. Crumb rubber powder modifiedasphalt has many advantages such as low production cost, energy conservation andenvironmental protection, while it exists some performance deficiencies such as highviscosity, poor storage stability and poor scalability in low temperature, so it’s difficultto apply it in highway construction. In view of the current research status of modifiedasphalt, this research adopt the method of SBS and crumb rubber powder compoundmodified asphalt, through the optimization of formulation and preparation process,prepare the SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt with low-cost andhigh performance for pavement.A series of exploration study was carried out on SBS/crumb rubber powdercompound modified asphalt in this paper. Through the exploration experiments ofSBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt, studied the law ofcompatibility between asphalt and modifiers, determined the type of asphalt andmodifier, preliminary explored the preparation process of SBS/crumb rubber powdercompound modified asphalt. Through the study on the formulation and preparationprocess of SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt, inspected theeffects of the dosage and adding process of crosslinking agent, compatibilizer andstabilizer on property of compound modified asphalt, optimized the formulation andpreparation process of SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt,determined the basic formulation and preparation process. The basic formulationincludes Taizhou90#asphalt, add additional2%YH791SBS,1%of crumb PS,10%80mesh tire rubber powder,4‰maleic anhydride,4‰sulfur powder and1.5‰WD-Ⅱstabilizer. The preparation process of SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modifiedasphalt as follows:the asphalt melt at135℃, addand dissolve the crumb PS foam,then add the crumb rubber powder and SBS, continue heating to185℃,react for1hand add the maleic anhydride，continue reacting for1h and add the sulfur powder andstabilizer, mix and react for0.5h until the mixture evenly dispersed, cool the mixtureand obtain the SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphal. Through the study on the properties of SBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt,compared and analysised the superiority of SBS/crumb rubber powder compoundmodified asphalt, verified the pavement performance of SBS/crumb rubber powdercompound modified asphalt fully meet the technical requirements of D-level SBSmodified asphalt in JTG F-402004, has a good modification effect, and the basicformulation has good stability, feasibility and practical economy.Through the systematic research on SBS/crumb rubber compound modifiedasphalt in this paper, explored the law of compatibility between asphalt and modifiers,inspected the effect of a variety of modification influential factors on property ofcompound modified asphalt, optimized the formulation and preparation process ofSBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt, produced an SBS/crumbrubber powder compound modified asphalt with high-performance and low-cost forpavement, proposed the ideas of improving the comprehensive performance ofSBS/crumb rubber powder compound modified asphalt, which has great significance infurther study and guiding the production.
