With the rapid development of economy since recent decades and westerndevelopment dirve, airport construction in west area has been promoted. The most ofwestern airports is located in the mountains, covers a lot of geologic orengineering-geologic cells. The complicated geologic conditions make the westernairport been the more engineering geologic problems than other area.Wulong airport located on top of the Xiannv mountain of Wulong country ofChongqing Province, which is a tourist regional airport, the most area of Wulongairport was covered by soluble carbonate rocks. There are several bad geologicalphenomena in the airport area, including ancient Karst development, overburdeninterface ups and downs, Soft soil layer uneven.So the mainly engineeringgeological problems of Wulong airport are Karst stability, foundation unevensettlement and fill slope stability.Through regional geological surveys, drilling, geophysical exploration,exploration and other methods to investigate regional and field area of engineeringgeological conditions; then combination of indoor and in situ testing to obtain thecorresponding physical parameters of the rock; analysis of rock and soilcharacteristics and karst features of the site, and then to Evaluate the EngineeringGeology Division; and then to evaluate the karst cave stability of the site byqualitative and semi-quantitative methods, to evalutate the slope stability of site bygeo-slope software, and calculate the settlement by stratified settlement sum method.This paper draws the following main conclusions through the above studies:(1) The site landform are low residual hill, plain, karst depression; there arethree faults near site region and no signs of new tectonic movement; The siteemergence strata are Quaternary System and the Permian Wujiaping strata; thesurface water system is not developed. (2) The modern Karst micro-develop, and the ancient karst strong-develop. Themain control factors of karst are rock and joints, karst is more development in thepurer limestone, karst development directions are the North West and North Eastroughly the same strike of joint.(3) There is plastic-flow clay layer at site, may cause uneven settlement,(4) The main site stability problems are Karst stability, slope stability andfoundation differential settlement. A few of Karst caves may collapse after cut; Theearth cave is developed at the runway and terminal area, they are may collapse afterfill loads. Natural and cut slope stability is good, but high fill slopes are instability.Cause the large uneven settlement by the high fill.
