Research On Automobiles’ Inherent Safety Degree

For analyzing and assessing automobiles’ overall safety inherently and Systemcomprehensively, and making up the deficiency of New Car Assessment Programme, thisthesis described automobiles’ inherent safety degree based on automobiles’ character and theconcept of inherent safety and inherent safety degree. Automobiles’ inherent safety degreewas quantified by establishing an assessing model,which can help the designers know theirsafety comprehensively and deeply to make up the system’s deficiency and optimize thedesign scheme. Then the automobile’s safety will be enhanced,and the safety hidden troublewill be eliminated.From the point of view of risk,when the model to assess automobiles’ inherent safetydegree was begun to be established,the maximum kind of risk that automobiles are facing wasconfirmed on the basis of statistics data first,then two assessing indexes was provided on thebasis of risk’s concept,which were probability and severity of accident. Accident probabilitywas calculated by FTA combined with trial data of reliability engineering,which is usedcommonly in system safety engineering. And the severity was quantified with the help of newcar impact trial of Euro NCAP which is implemented generally in the industry. Atlast,accident probability and severity was integrated into inherent risk degree,and theninherent safety degree was calculated based on the logical relationship between safety andrisk.After verifying the assessing model’s usability with an example,it was theoreticallyfeasible that quantifying automobiles’ inherent safety degree combined with mature new carimpact trial in the industry and with relevant theory and method of system safety engineeringand reliability engineering. It has important practical significance and wide applicationprospect.
