This article begins with the whole world energy crisis question's analysis, and elaborates the renewable energy specially the solar energy's use have increasingly important strategic status in the human energy structure. The development of photovoltaic industry has become an important topic for all countries to solve the contradictory between energy demand and the economical development, the environmental protection. Steady and benign sustainable development strategy is more important for these nations consuming vast Energy, for example china.This article detailedly analyzes the mathematical model of solar PV array and the simplified model, and uses Matlab simulation tools to establish the M-function model and the Simulink simulation model. In addition, studying PV array's output characteristics based on the model of the PV array.The model can mimic PV array output characteristics at any temperature, solar radiation intensity; it also can replace actual photovoltaic PV array to complete experiment in various conditions.This article analyzes the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) theory of photovoltaic power generation system, the principle of Boost converter and impedance transformation characteristic in photovoltaic power generating system maximum power point tracking applications. The simulation study of Boost converter applied in the MPPT is completed based on Simulink simulation model, and the simulation results verify that the maximum power output of PV array can be achieved through adjusting duty cycle. The impedance matching range of Boost converter used in the maximum power point tracking system is given through a study of impedance matching. In this article, several control strategies of MPPT are analyzed and compared, and a MPPT fuzzy logic control algorithm of the solar cell applicable to AT89C52 is designedA MPPT system controlled by the Single Chip Micyoco AT89C52 was presented, in which boost converter is core, Nickel-hydrogen battery and high brightness LED is load. The detection, control and protection circuits are designed. This system has good practical applications in the future. How to reduce the volume and improve the efficiency of the MPPT system will be a future research direction.
