The concrete structure is widely used in modern bridge engineering construction. Stressand deformation of the concrete structure caused by temperature effects directly affect thesafety, applicability and durability of the concrete bridge structure. So, in the design ofbridge engineering and construction, it is necessary to consider temperature effects.A lot of research on the effect of temperature of the bridge upper structure has beendone by domestic and foreign scholars, so have the aspects of factors and the analysismethod. These studies tend to continuous girder bridge, cable-stayed bridge andconcrete-filled steel tubular arch bridge. On the contrary research on reinforced concretearch bridge is very little. The temperature gradient model of concrete arch bridge is notdefined in "General Code for Design of Highway Bridges and Culverts"(JTJ D60-2004).It is just simplely regulated that when there is no reliable data, the gap of temperaturebetween inside and outside of the chamber shall not be lower than5℃in "Specificationsfor Design of Highway Masonry Bridges and Culverts"(JTG D61-2005). In this paper,based on the view of quantitative point, some research has been done on temperatureeffect of the main concrete box arch of deck arch bridge. It is hoped to provide atheoretical reference for the engineering design and specifications.In this paper, Bridge2in the north resort of Changbai-Mountain international tourismwas taken as an example. After the bridge opened to traffic, the synchronous testingmethod that "time-temperature-deformation-stress" was adopted to test the study oftemperature field of main arch ring caused by sunshine and its effect of Brideg2.Themeasured data of temperature field was analysed, and the characteristic of the temperaturefield of the main arch ring was summarized. Based on the characteristic, the fitting oflongitudinal, vertical and transverse temperature gradient function of the box-section archring of large-span was done by the mathematical regression method and MATLAB, andthen comparison was done between the fitting and the regulation of the temperature effectin domestic and foreign design standard. The feasibility and reliability of the calculation method was sufficiently verified.This paper established the finite element model of the main arch ring using ANSYS toanalyze the temperature effect and applied the temperature loads and boundary conditionsunder the first and third boundary condition. Then compared the data calculated by ANSYSwith the measured data to verify that the characteristics of temperature field andtemperature gradient were correct. Causes of errors between the calculated data and themeasured data was summarized to provide reference for the research work of the future.
