Oriented to the actual needs of the external store separation experiment on aircraft in our existing wind tunnel experimental conditions and focused on the pose parameters requirement of the store models in separation process such as angle and angular velocity, a research on the external store separation device on aircraft is carried out in this paper. An experimental separation device is designed, a series of shrink ratio store models is studied, and a device to measure the mass parameters of the store models is developed. A series of theoretical analysis and virtual prototype simulations are carried out to study the separation process based on the planar kinematics, and then the curves, which are employed to check the core performance of the store separation device are provided. The details are presented as follows:(1) An external store separation device is studied, including a born-bolt to mount the store, a locking cylinder to load the locking force, and a slide way structure or a hook structure to control the pitching angular. The locking force can be instantaneously loaded through the control of the born-bolt and the single locking cylinder.(2) The theoretical mechanics basic principles and the planar high pair kinematics laws are adopted to analyze the designed separation device and the separation process. The Runge-Kutta method is utilized to obtain the relationship between the angle as well as the angular velocity and time in the case of the slide way structure. The planar high pair kinematics relationship is derived to calculate the pose parameters of the store model in the separation process in case of the pitching augular controlling structure of hook..(3) Software Adams is adopted on the virtual prototype simulation to the separation process to obtain the variation law of angular velocity and angle. The angle and the angular velocity of the store model in the separation process are studied with the hook structure and the separation force to attain an influence law, which further provides the curve of the core performance of the designed store separation device.(4) Three groups of store models with different mass parameters are developed based on the shrink ratio principle. The basic design idea is proved available through computer simulation that the shell is split and two blocks of balance weight are employed to adjust the model. An measuring device is designed to obtain the actual mass parameters, including the mass, the centroid position, and the pitching rotation inertia, which can satisfy the actual needs of the wind tunnel experiment.
