In this paper,the characteristics of existing external energy automatic mechanism was summarized,the small caliber external energy firearms based on cam drive are designed.The emphasis is on the design of the automatic mechanism,includes cam mechanism,locking mechanism,ejection mechanism and firing mechanism and ammunition feed mechanism.Two kinds of external energy firearms plan are set up respectively,one is feed by magazine,the other is feed by belt.The influence of the cam profile on the automatic mechanism is analyzed,it includes displacement,speed and acceleration driven by arc constant speed splicing curve,invariable acceleration curve,harmonic curve,cycloid curve and 4-5-6-7 polynomial curve cam.The influence of the cam radius on the pressure angle of the contour curve is studied,and the distribution of the pressure angle on the different cam profile curves is analyzed.Using the dynamic simulation software ADAMS,two kinds of virtual prototypes for ammunition feed type are set up.The rules of two kinds of automatic mechanism for uniform speed motion are analyzed.The movement process of locking mechanism,ejection mechanism and firing mechanism and ammunition feed mechanism.The motion characteristics of different cam curve magazine feed automatic mechanism drive by different torque is analyzed;The driving power of the rated speed magazine feed cam drive automatic mechanism were analyzed;The influence of different cam diameters on the starting process of the automatic mechanism was analyzed.Finally,the strength of the locking mechanism of the cam automatic mechanism is checked by the finite element simulation software ABAQUS.The research work of this paper provides some reference for the design of external energy cam driven automatic weapon.
