Vanadium battery is a new type of energy storage energy, can be applied in thepower plant to balance load, wind power energy power supply, mass photoelectricconversion and as a energy storage system for remote areas, ongoing power supply oremergency power system. In recent years as the rapid development of vanadiumbattery technology, It has important meaning to new energy’ development! Thispaper discussed vanadium battery electrolyte solution’ preparation, and studiedsome important thermodynamics constant.Vanadicsulfate aqueous solution was prepared. vanadicsulfate wasrecrystallized and determination the number of the crystal water. Using gravimetry todeterminate the concentration of vanadicsulfate aqueous solution.Differentconcentration was prepared to do the following experiments.The surface tension of the vanadicsulfate aqueous solution was determinatedunder different concentrations and different temperature,and calculating the relatedthermodynamics dates. Determinating the surface tension of ultrapure water tocalculate the Instrument coefficient.And then using the different concentrations ofvanadicsulfate aqueous solution to determinate the surface tension.Through thepicture of surface tension and temperature,we got that as the concentrations ofsolution was increasing the surface tension was also increasing.This explains VOSO4is unactive material surface.The relations of surface tension, concentration andactivity were shown as the picture. The adsorption quantity was calculated throughgibbs adsorption equation.Determintating the vanadicsulfate aqueous solution by electromotive forcemethod,and calculating the association constant of VOSO4’ Ion Pair.Determinatingthe different concentrations of Sulfuric acid solution by electromotive force method.Using E=E0+kln a±3=E0+3k ln(4mAγ±) formula,and drawing that intercept E0wasget. Electrode pairs have a well Nernst linear response.E0was the standard electrodepotential which is the battery glass electrodes||H2SO4(mA), VOSO4(mB)||Hg/Hg2SO4.Activity coefficients was calculated by devies equation. Extrapolation function E’and concentration was drawing to get the realation.Calculating theassociation constant of VOSO4ion pairs.To sum up,This paper refined vanadicsulfate aqueous solution. The surfacetension of the vanadicsulfate aqueous solution was determinated under differentconcentrations and different temperature,and interface nature was dicussed.Determintating the vanadicsulfate aqueous solution by electromotive forcemethod,and calculating the association constant of VOSO4’ Ion Pair.At last we get theassociation constant of VOSO4ion pairs.
