This paper focus on brake control system research for metros. The brake commands, the technology of blending braking and the transportation of metros by main line locomotive have been investigation.The characters of metros and the requirements of braking were introduced. The main research content for metro brake control system was explained. Function and parameter for the brake control system were designed. The principles and components of electro-dynamic brake system and pneumatic brake system were introduced. Taking Guangzhou Line1、2&8(GZ128) for example, the calculation of the braking force is performed and the distribution principle were explained.The advantages and disadvantages of brake command types and transmission for brake command and braking force blending modes were compared. The transportation scheme of metros by main line locomotive was introduced. All researches presented in the thesis have been applied to GZ128and proved it’s practicable.The research shows that the brake commands transmit through network in binary and is provide redundancy by train line. All of these make the control more precise and safe. That’s advanced technology, which can be applied to internal metros. The control of braking force blending is realized by the software of pneumatic brake system. The brake control unit is responsible for the braking management of the whole metro vehicles, including the distribution of electro-dynamic brake and the coordination with pneumatic brake, which can satisfy the requirement of braking precision. Braking force blending make the deceleration stable, it’s an available brake control mode. When vehicles are transported by main line locomotive, the transportation device monitors the brake pipe reduction, and the software of brake control unit transforms the reduction into the distinguishable electro-dynamic brake command which can be distinguished by metros. The transportation way can realize the braking and releasing synchronization between locomotive and metro vehicle, and satisfy the requirement of braking performance. So it’s an economic, efficient, safe and reliable transportation way.
