War system is a typical complex huge system. Compared with the previous warsystem under the information based on combat system, the scale is much larger and therelations are more complex. For modelling the war system, how to describe the complexrelations of war system is a key issue and is extremely difficult. In this thesis, weconducted an exploratory study on the combat system based on the theory of complexnetworks and methods.First, the backgrounds and significance are briefly described, then the recentresearch status of the related fields is introduced. Finally, the organization of the thesisis given.Second, the complex networks theory is introduced and we focus on severalimportant characteristic parameters and four kinds of typical models.Third, we apply complex networks theory and methods to abstract the combatentities and relations of the vertexes and edges. Then, a combat system networktopology model is established. We take a battle scene as an example to demonstrate theprocess of the model construction, afterwords, the model is analyzed in four aspects ofinformation delay, collaborative information, intelligence reliable values and fightingefficiency and it is proved that the model can reflect the main characteristics of thecombat system and is reasonable.Fourth, the requirements of combat system network simulation and thecharacteristics of future combat command and control network are analyzed. Acommand and control network of traditional vertical superior-subordinate relationship isconstructed. On the basis of traditional command and control network, we enhance thehorizontal connections between internal groups and external groups and enhance thelongitudinal cross multi-layer connections. Based on all of these, we construct a crossmulti-layer coordination network model. Finally, the establishment of rules and theproposed algorithm are described as well.Fifth, an evaluation index is constructed for reflecting the network connectivityand information transmission efficiency. Through the simulation experiments, the effectof change of command span and command level on information transmission efficiencyis studied and the robustness and fragility of the network is revealed by two ways:random attack and the attack of degree-priority. By analyzing the experimental results, some enlightenments about construction of military command and control system areobtained.
