Owing to the complex mountainous terrain conditions, which have manylong-sharp downhill, bridges and tunnels, vehicle easily appear brake failure, verticalsliding, lateral sliding, side tumbling causing to serious traffic accident. Therefore, mountain road safety is one of the key problems that need solutions. The tire of vehicle are the only part in contact with the road, many kind ofimportant vehicle’s characteristics are closely related to the performance of tire.therefore, to research on the interaction between tire and road is very important foranalysis of the vehicle safe driving. In this thesis, finite element model of tire and roadare successfully built with ABAQUS. When the finite element model is created, theincompressible rubber in tire uses the neo-Hookean material model, and Rebarelements model is used to simulate cord-rubber composite material properties. To truly reflect the actual situation, in this paper, the influences of the geometricnonlinearity, the material nonlinearity, and the nonlinearity boundary conditions formthe contact between tire and road are all taken into accounted. On this basis, analysis ofthe tire static mechanical properties by using ABAQUS/standard. This paper addressesan effective method to simulate the tire inflation and load application and obtain theforce and deformation character of skeleton and rubber structure. Then, the adhesionmechanism of tire and road is analysed in this paper and finite element model of therolling tire is created by using ABAQUS. Considering the effect of inertia, rolling tireon a steep is simulated to obtain relationship between vertical force and slip ratethrough controlling tire’s translationl and rotational speed. Side slip is simulated toobtain relationship between lateral friction and later angel when tire roll on sharpbends of the road.
